BRADNER OVERPASS
Bradner Overpass Foundation Piles
Henry Foundation Drilling Inc. (HFDI) is delivering specialized deep foundation work for the Bradner Overpass project along Highway 1 in Abbotsford, BC. Our scope includes the supply and installation of permanent steel pipe piles designed to provide reliable, long-term structural support for this important transportation infrastructure project.
Permanent Steel Pipe Pile Installation
HFDI was contracted to supply and install 32 permanent steel pipe piles, each measuring 914 mm in diameter and approximately 20 metres in length.
The piles were installed using an advanced hydraulic impact hammer mounted on a 110-ton crawler crane. From equipment mobilization through final pile installation, our experienced foundation drilling team focused on precision, safety and operational efficiency.
Each steel pipe pile was driven within the required project tolerances and specifications, creating a strong and dependable foundation for the Bradner Overpass.
Deep Foundation Work Along Highway 1
Completing foundation work beside one of British Columbia’s busiest transportation corridors required detailed planning and close coordination.
Although traffic control was managed by the client, the HFDI team worked within strict traffic management plans, limited operating windows, overhead restrictions and extensive site safety requirements.
Heavy-equipment mobilization was carefully scheduled to reduce disruption to Highway 1 traffic. This included moving the 110-ton crawler crane during overnight hours, at approximately 2 a.m., while maintaining the project’s required safety standards.
Safe and Precise Project Execution
Safety and accuracy remained central throughout every stage of the foundation pile installation. Our team coordinated equipment, personnel and installation activities to meet demanding site conditions without compromising quality or productivity.
HFDI’s experience with large-diameter steel pipe piles and complex infrastructure projects allowed the work to progress efficiently while meeting the client’s technical and operational requirements.
Stage 1 Successfully Completed
Stage 1 of the Bradner Overpass foundation work has been successfully completed. All 32 permanent steel pipe piles were installed within the required tolerances and project schedule.
The work met the project’s quality expectations, and the client has expressed satisfaction with the completed stage. Henry Foundation Drilling is now preparing for Stages 2 and 3, bringing the same expertise, safety standards and commitment to the remaining foundation work.
